GBG views the management and reduction of environmental impact as a core component of its sustainability strategy. As a construction and property development company, the Group recognises the environmental footprint associated with its activities and seeks to capture opportunities in more sustainable development practices such as circular construction, green building design and digitalisation, while supporting regulatory compliance and strengthening long-term business resilience.
GBG OVERALL MANAGEMENT APPROACH TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
GBG's approach to managing environmental impact is based on the following:
- Reducing energy usage at operational sites and headquarters by gradually fostering an “energy conservation culture” among employees.
- Implementing energy-saving designs and features, including Greentech, in its projects to enable clients to realise better savings over the lifecycle of their buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Aligning with the ISO 14001:2015 standard to not only ensure compliance with legal obligations but also enhance opportunities for new business and client trust.
EMISSIONS
In line with the ISO 14001:2015 standard, the Group has adopted a range of measures that have led to a notable reduction in carbon emissions:
- Using more environmentally-friendly diesel, such as biodiesel for gensets and machinery.
- Reducing the use of diesel-powered company vehicles.
- Adopting renewable energy alternatives to reduce reliance on electricity from the national grid.
- Implementing compact sub-stations to provide permanent power supply to site operations and site offices. This significantly reduced CO2 emissions and noise pollution.
OUR INITIATIVES
